Why is access restricted in my region?

Access to the SFD-protected features is restricted in certain geographical regions. Please refer to the information below if you get this message in the Carista App:



Prizmos LTD is a private company based in Bulgaria, EU. Prizmos LTD owns and operates the services and products, provided and distributed under the Carista brand as a part of our mobile application for automobile diagnostics. 

As part of the EU, citizens and organizations are bound by the general European acts, including regulations and decisions thereof.

The EU has enacted restrictive measures or sanctions towards certain countries for defined purposes. The requirements for enacting such restrictions are primarily directed towards the member states, however, citizens, companies, and organizations should also comply with such requirements.

Restrictions imposed on certain states are timely amended, imposed, or lifted. The comprehensive and live list of countries with imposed EU sanctions can be found here.

The United Nations have as well enacted certain sanctions towards certain countries, mostly in parallel with the European Union, and vice versa. Those are restrictions we should abide by as well. 

Additionally, we have partnered with Volkswagen and other automobile producers, which may require application with German or other countries' particular restrictions in order to provide certain services. Our partners may request additional territorial limitations to our services or specific actions thereof, which we are contractually obliged to apply. 

Altogether, we are bound by international, European and national acts to avoid operations, concerning our services and products, with any private or governmental representatives in states, towards which sanctions in one or more applicable areas are imposed.

The areas, within which our services are restricted, are as follows: 

1. Prohibitions to sell, supply, transfer or export equipment, technology or software intended primarily for use in the monitoring or interception of internet and of telephone communications on mobile or fixed networks;
2. Prohibitions to provide telecommunication or internal monitoring or interception services and related technical assistance;
3. Prohibitions to sell, supply, transfer or export goods and technology, which might contribute to a sanctioned state’s military and technological enhancement, or to the development of its defense and security sector;
4. Prohibitions to provide computer and related services; 
5. Prevention of business that could contribute to violence and the use of force against civilians; 
6. Prohibitions to provide IT, technical testing and analysis services;
7. Prohibitions on providing equipment which might be used for internal repression; 
8. Prohibition to provide technical assistance, software, automobile devices and equipment, communication software and equipment;
9. Other relevant prohibitions. 

In case you deem that your access to our services and products was restricted unlawfully, or that certain derogations are applicable to you and your access to the services and products, please contact us on our contact form.

Should we identify any of our users as a person, sanctioned under international, European, or national legislation, we shall limit or restrict access and usage of our services and products. We shall also notify the competent authorities of any such restrictions.
